Our Mission

• Mara is a non profit making organization (NPO) whose core business is to unite all Basotho people in celebrating their culture, language and heritage
• Mara is an organisation of all Basotho, regardless of where they come from or where they reside
• Mara has taken a liberal, rather than conservative cultural stance, and is open to all Basotho regardless of race, colour, creed, age, sex and sexual orientation
• Mara recognises and upholds the principle of equality among men and women
• Mara is not a religious organisation and will not deliberate on religious issues
• Mara is not a political organisation and will not be drawn into any party-political issues regardless of members' political affiliations
